Colorado pot company looking to buy prominent downtown Eugene building, open marijuana store there

A Colorado marijuana company said it plans to buy a building in the heart of downtown Eugene, across from Kesey Square, and open a pot shop there.

The prominence of the building — at the crossroads of Willamette and Broadway — is exactly why Boulder, Colo.-based Terrapin Care Station wants the property, Peter Marcus, spokesman for the company, told The Register-Guard. “The downtown location at 1 E. Broadway will provide us the best opportunity to introduce the Terrapin cannabis experience to the Eugene community,” he wrote in an email. The three-story, 10,830-square-foot building is listed for sale for nearly $2.5 million by Windermere Real Estate. Marcus declined to say how much Terrapin Care Station expects to pay for it.
