The present government has indicated that it is open to blanket pardons for cannabis-possession offences in the future, but the people who have already been harmed by prohibition will continue to suffer until amnesty legislation is passed. No Canadian should be burdened with a criminal record for a minor, non-harmful act that will no longer be a crime … We are asking our government to act now and issue blanket pardons to all individuals for the offence of simple possession of cannabis.
