Massachusetts [psilocybin home grow at risk]…
H3589 – An Act concerning the legalization of certain natural plants and fungi – Rep. Nick Boldyga & H1754/S1009 – An Act relative to plant medicine – Rep. Lindsay Sabadosa / Sen. Patricia Jehlen
…would legalize plant medicines for those 21 years of age and older, while the other two bills would legalize plant medicines for those 18 years of age and older [and does not put home grow at risk]. [Another bill introduced later…95505 Massachusetts for Mental Health Options]… when reached for comment about the campaign, Moghimi told the State House News Service to contact Ben Unger, who works at New Approach, further signaling a connection between the PAC and the new Massachusetts effort…. has left some feeling uncomfortable… [such as] Mason Marks, a law professor at the Florida State University College of Law and co-founder of the Project on Psychedelics Law and Regulation (POPLAR) at the Petrie-Flom Center at Harvard Law School… Part of the reason is that there’s an open question as to what extent the committee sought to engage with local reform advocacy groups that have successfully worked to enact psychedelics decriminalization in six Massachusetts cities… most recently in Salem. [In Oregon, where New Approach PAC initiated it’s psilocybin policy efforts, citizens can still not cultivate their own mushrooms legally (leading to vast disparities in access years later), whereas in Colorado activists and advocates worked diligently, and ultimately, successfully, to allow for home-grows for citizens.]
