The whole fungus: developed
Party members in Canada overwhelmingly vote for decriminalizing drugs. It’s likely a first for North America. The City of Vancouver, BC has officially recommended that the Government of Canada “immediately” decriminalize the personal possession of all drugs, including hard drugs like cocaine and heroin.
Decriminalization is a relatively simple process. It would involve removing sections of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act that apply to the personal possession of the drugs in question… convening a multi-sectoral task force to implement immediate decriminalization of personal possession of illicit drugs, rapidly roll out funding for evidence-based treatment programs, support the de-stigmatization of programs that are co-led by people with lived experience of substance use.
