These are the 10 most addictive drugs in the world

As the study points out, it’s interesting that legal status doesn’t necessarily have anything to do with addictiveness or harm. That need for accurate information is what drove British psychiatrist David Nutt to develop scales to assess exactly how dangerous and addictive drugs actually are.

The ranking of drugs produced by [this] assessment of harm differed from those used by current regulatory systems… developed and explored the feasibility of the use of a nine-category matrix of harm, with an expert delphic procedure, to assess the harms of a range of illicit drugs in an evidence-based fashion.
